Mercy's Safe Baby Tip Sheet

At times like these, it’s understandable to have a lot of questions about pregnancy and childbirth. Mercy’s here to help, with expert guidance and the answers you need.

Mercy’s Safe Baby Tip Sheet answers questions you may have, including:

  • Conception during COVID-19
  • What COVID-19 means for your pregnancy
  • Giving birth during COVID-19
  • Natural birth considerations during COVID-19

How we’re keeping moms and babies safe.

Rest assured, Mercy is following all guidelines to provide the safest care for pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we’re screening patients and visitors at hospital entrances, isolating patients who test positive for the virus, allowing only one support partner for childbirth (doula policies vary by location), and limiting visitors at our hospitals and outpatient facilities.

In addition, all Mercy caregivers must pass daily screenings and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty. Mercy also supports the early-discharge recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists when both mother and baby are healthy.

The safety of our patients and caregivers has been, and always will be, our priority. We follow strict standards for disinfecting, required masking for patients, visitors and co-workers, and social distancing. Please do your part by following these and other CDC guidelines.
